Hurricane Sandy – A Tree Fell On A Neighbors House

The Damage To This Home Could Have Been Much Worse!

As I went out to survey my neighborhood and to get some gas for my car, the damage from hurricane Sandy started to become very apparent! I turned the corner and saw that a large tree had fallen on a neighbor’s house. To make matters worse, this was the second tree that had fallen on their house. During Hurricane Irene a tree fell on the other side of the house and caused a lot damage.

With all the damage Hurricane Sandy caused it took five days for the clean up crew to arrive to remove this tree and another tree that fell on another house down the block. Once the crew got to work, they moved quickly and they were able clear out the tree in thirty minutes. The good thing here was that it appeared the tree did minimal damage to the house, only denting part of the gutter.

As I drove through the neighborhood I had to avoid what seemed like a fallen tree on every block…
