Hurricane Sandy – Lines For Gas Are Very Long

My Car Was On Empty So I Had To Stay On Line For Three Hours To Get Gas

On my first day out to survey my neighborhood and to get gas, to my surprise almost every store was closed mainly because of the power outage. I was surprised that the Stop & Shop supermarket was open for half the day, and I was grateful to be able to stock up on some items. There weren’t any lines for gas yet because all of the gas stations were closed.

When the gas stations did open, the lines were ridiculously long. My first couple of attempts to get gas were unsuccessful, as I waited on line only to be told that the gas station ran out of gas. I was finally successful after I got on a line for gas at 3am in the morning and waited for three hours. I wasn’t allowed to fill my tank, so I decided to wait on another line for four hours to be able to fill my tank.
