Bovine Growth Hormone Linked To Cancer

Two reporters from Fox Television were asked to do any stories they wanted to, to ask tough questions, and to get answers. They did a story on milk in Florida that was adulterated with Monsanto’s bovine growth hormone. Monsanto worked effectively to get the bovine growth hormone on the marketplace.

The federal government basically rubber-stamped it, before they put the bovine growth hormone on the marketplace. The longest test done on human toxicity was ninety days on thirty rats. Either Monsanto misreported the results to the FDA or the FDA didn’t bother to look in depth at Monsanto’s studies.

The scientists of Health Canada looked at the studies for the bovine growth hormone and came to very different conclusions than the FDA did. The growth hormone did not comply with safety requirements and could be absorbed into the body on cause health problems.

Power Walk Technique To Burn Calories And Lose Weight – With Power Walk Video

Power Walk On A Treadmill For A Full Body Workout To Lose Weight

Power Walking Technique
Power Walking Technique

I have picked up some good pointers for power walking on a treadmill for a full body workout and to lose weight. Not all walking on treadmill is equal, and different techniques will produce different results. My reason for power walking is to save myself from the pounding on my knees that result from running, but I also wanted to maintain the benefits of running which are: burning of calories, increased leg stamina, and the strengthening of my cardiovascular system.

Hurricane Sandy – No Power For Seven Days – New Jersey

Hurricane Sandy Damage- No Heat And Hot Water For 5 Days – New Jersey

I really wasn’t prepared for the amount of damage Hurricane Sandy would leave behind on Monday October 29, 2012. As far as storms go, the weather on Sunday and Monday did not seem so bad. I have lived through worse. It didn’t rain much out by me in New Jersey, and though my power went out and there was some heavy winds, I didn’t think it would take more than a day to get everything cleaned up. That’s what I thought before I woke up and looked out my window and saw a large tree had fallen and just missed crashing through my window by five feet. I didn’t even hear the tree come down, but my neighbors were watching it as it fell, and luckily it fell slowly and not into anyone’s home.

Hurricane Sandy – A Tree Fell On A Neighbors House

The Damage To This Home Could Have Been Much Worse!

As I went out to survey my neighborhood and to get some gas for my car, the damage from hurricane Sandy started to become very apparent! I turned the corner and saw that a large tree had fallen on a neighbor’s house. To make matters worse, this was the second tree that had fallen on their house. During Hurricane Irene a tree fell on the other side of the house and caused a lot damage.

Hurricane Sandy – Lines For Gas Are Very Long

My Car Was On Empty So I Had To Stay On Line For Three Hours To Get Gas

On my first day out to survey my neighborhood and to get gas, to my surprise almost every store was closed mainly because of the power outage. I was surprised that the Stop & Shop supermarket was open for half the day, and I was grateful to be able to stock up on some items. There weren’t any lines for gas yet because all of the gas stations were closed.

Reaction To CBS News Vitamin D Segment 10/24/2012 | Revises Recommendations For Vitamin D

CBS Airs Video Of A Study That Revises Recommendations For Vitamin D Supporting A Lower Number. What?!

Vitamin D level20 ng/ml
Vitamin D level20 ng/ml???

Once I heard that this segment would appear on CBS, I was eager to see what these recommendations were. What it actually did was leave me scratching my head. The doctor in the video refers to a “recent” recommendation from the Institute of Medicine for the minimum level of vitamin D (25-OHD) to be 20 ng/ml. This recent recommendation is from 2010. This is a conservative recommendation in comparison to the recommended daily allowance “RDA” of 600 IU of vitamin D, and 30 ng/ml called for by the lab that provides my blood test results. Currently 80 million Americans would test as deficient under the 30 ng/ml guideline.

Well we made it to the Tour de Bronx 2012, just a little late. We missed the 9:30am registration, 25 mile ride departure, and the 40 mile ride departure. Alex and Vicky decided to go the morning of the ride and we rushed out to try to make it to at least one of the two departure times.
