Check The Food Ingredients

To be serious about going vegan means having to check your food labels. The easiest way to know what you are eating is to eat whole foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds.

You may find yourself in situations where you need to or want to buy packaged foods. You have to be aware that the name of the product often doesn’t accurately describe the ingredients in the package.

You may find a package labeled “Spelt Noddles,” but upon checking the ingredients it might contain other types of wheat that you don’t want to consume. The same goes for many bread products.

Also, a rule of thumb is you want to avoid products that contain ingredients that are difficult to pronounce. These ingredients, even though they may be labeled “natural” are synthetic in nature and disrupt homeostasis in the body and promote chronic disease.
