Is Vegan Healthy? Eating a vegan diet has led to the reversal of disease in my body and I haven’t been sick in 4 years since I adopted a plant-based diet.

This is not uncommon for people who eat a well-rounded whole food plant-based diet, especially one that is based on the consumption of non-hybrid plant foods.

Eating a well-balanced vegan diet consisting of a majority of varied vegetables and fruits, supplemented with nuts, seeds, legumes, and whole grains will saturate the body with vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that will bolster the immune system and support homeostasis in the body.

Excluding the consumption of meat and dairy will severely reduce the amount of pathogens and toxins that enter the body and undermine the state of homeostasis.

Veganism and Homeostasis

Homeostasis is the condition where all of the body’s functions operate at the optimal level without negatively effecting another.

When a function in the body is compromised the body will work to return the function to a normal operating state, but sometimes at the expense of another function until the condition in the environment is corrected.

For instance, the body becomes acidic through the consumption of meat, dairy, and processed foods, which can result in lowering of the pH of the blood and the reduction of oxygen and nutrient delivery to cells.

It is vitally important to overall health to maintain a blood pH of 7.4, so when we consume too much acidic foods the body will compensate by stripping the alkaline calcium mineral from bones to put into the bloodstream to maintain a 7.4 pH level in the blood.

Th body will sacrifice the health of the bones to maintain the health of the blood because the blood supplies oxygen and nutrients to all cells of the body.

Natural non-hybrid alkaline plant food supplies the body with proper nutrients in the needed ratio that supports homeostasis and the healthy function of all functions in the body.

The Consumption of Alkaline Plant Foods Returns the Body to an Alkaline State

Dr. Vega showed in this video how an acidic environment robbed the blood of oxygen and paralyzed white blood cells in his cancer patients, which allowed disease to proliferate unchecked.

He was able to alkalize his patients by giving them goji berry juice and the video shows the white blood cells in the resulting blood samples were removed from their dormant state and were able to clean the blood of disease.

Consuming a well-rounded non-hybrid whole food vegan diet supplies the body with the nutrients it needs in the ratio it needs to return and keep the body in a state of homeostasis.

The consumption of meat, dairy, and processed foods introduces pathogens and toxins into the body that acidifies it and promotes the development of inflammation and chronic disease.

Meat Consumption and Cancer

In October of 2015, 22 scientists from ten countries met at the World Health Organization’s (WHO) International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to evaluate the carcinogenicity of processed meat and red meat.[1]

After reviewing more than 800 scientific studies covering people of diverse ethnic backgrounds across multiple countries and continents the World Health Organization (WHO) classified processed meat as “carcinogenic to humans,” a group 1 classification which places the consumption of processed meat in the same carcinogenic classification as cigarettes, alcohol, and arsenic.

The WHO also classified the consumption of red meat as “probably carcinogenic to humans.”

Whole Plants, Meat, and Fat

The overconsumption of fat and the consumption of toxic fat leads to a host of chronic diseases like heart disease and even diabetes. The Western diet and Standard American Diet (SAD) is high in animal protein and saturated fat.

There is a high correlation with the Western and SAD diet and the increase of chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, stroke, and intestinal disorders to name a few.

You may think of diabetes being solely a problem stemming from poor or non existent insulin production because of heavy carbohydrate consumption, but science now shows that the heavy consumption of fat and toxic fat actually is responsible for the problems with insulin production.

Toxic fat builds up in muscles and interferes with glucose being allowed to enter muscle cells to provide energy. Glucose then builds in the bloodstream since it can’t enter muscle cells.

The body continues to produce insulin thinking it needs to produce more insulin to get glucose out of the bloodstream and into cells. This leads to glucose intolerance because no matter how much insulin is provided the glucose can’t enter muscle cells as it was designed to.

A well rounded whole food vegan diet or a plant-centered diet contains the optimal amount of fat and types of fat which do not cause a toxic buildup of fat in muscles tissue like fat from meat and dairy do.

Benefits of a Vegan Diet

The benefits of a vegan diet are countless. The only issue that vegans can face is getting enough vitamin B12. Other than this a whole food vegan diet supplies all of the nutrients the body needs in the ratio it needs.

Getting enough vitamin B12 has only become an issue because industrial processes have threatened natural sources of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is not produced by animals but is produced by bacteria in the soil.

The bacteria leaves vitamin B12 on plants and in water sources which are then consumed by animals and humans. Water sources are treated with chemicals that kill the bacteria, and produce has to be thoroughly sanitized to kill harmful bacteria and this also kills helpful bacteria as well.

This reduces the amount of vitamin B12 vegans and meat-eaters consume, which makes vitamin B12 deficiency and issue for everyone. Consuming a majority of fresh fruits and vegetables can help supply more vitamin B12 from the vitamin B12 that remains on the produce.

In either case it is likely the both vegans and omnivores may both need B12 supplementation, and vegans can supplement with vegan vitamin B12.

Other than vitamin B12 a well rounded whole food vegan diet easily supplies all the nutrients needed to support homeostasis. A well rounded vegan diet supplies around 80% carbohydrates for energy to support muscle function, 10% fat to optimally support brain function, and 10% protein to support hormone production, immune response, and cell repair.

Plants are dense in vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates, but also supply needed levels of fat and protein. Plants are also very important because they supply phytonutrients.

Phytonutrients have been divided into classes that include carotenoids, flavonoids, phytates, ligans, isothiocyanates or indoles, phenols, saponins, sulfides, and terpenes.

Phytonutrients are compounds that plants use to protect themselves against environment, which includes attacks from bugs and disease. Phytonutrients kill cancer cells, repair DNA, detoxify and bind with toxins so the can be removed from the body, enhance cell communication, kill pathogens, and serve as antioxidants to protect cells from free radical damage and aging.

Some vegan foods are definitely better than others, and the better foods are non-hybrid alkaline whole plant foods. They are original foods that have chemical affinity with the body and don’t cause issues in the digestive tract where 80% of the immune system is.
