What Vegetables Have Magnesium?

Studies have shown that 80-90% of the U.S. population is deficient in magnesium, and that is a result of eating a Standard American Diet (SAD).

A SAD diet consisted to the heavy consumption of meat, dairy, and processed foods, and they are all deficient in minerals including magnesium.

In contrast a whole food plant based diet is saturated with minerals because plant food is saturated with nutrients and minerals, including magnesium.

Magnesium deficiency is a serious concern because magnesium is involved in over 300 enzyme processes including the absorption of calcium by bones and teeth, maintaining proper muscle and nerve function, replicating new cells, repairing protein, and the synthesis and repair of DNA and RNA.

A well-balanced whole food plant based diet easily the daily recommended value of magnesium and vegetables are a good sources of magnesium.

Vegetables That Have Magnesium

All vegetables contain some amount of magnesium, even if the amount is small. Other vegetables are better sources of magnesium.

The foods consists of all vegetables, not only leafy greens.

  • Wild Rice
