Why Foods Are Added And Removed From The Dr. Sebi Nutritional Guide

Please first understand that Dr. Sebi nutritional guide has been around for over 30 years. Dr. Sebi put together the guide to recommend the most health supportive and least detrimental foods that are available for mass consumption.

The list avoids highly hybridized, highly starchy, acidic and mucus forming foods. Through the lifespan of the guide it was inevitable that the guide would go through some changes, and continuous research shapes the guide.

The guide largely goes through changes in removing foods in response to production issues with food crops the compromise their structure and integrity, which made it necessary to recommend against consuming the foods. Maple syrup falls into the category.

Some producers used formaldehyde to keep the hole open in maple trees which allowed the poison to contaminate the maple syrup. It was best to remove it from the guide.

Continuous research also identified foods that fit within Dr. Sebi’s methodology which also offered more variety to the guide, like the addition of fonio. Changes made to the guide are not done without thought and are not done to confuse or frustrate anyone.

Some people have made the sound argument that Dr. Sebi had been healing people with foods that were on the guide, and how do we know foods that were removed weren’t part of the healing process?

As far as foods being compromised because of production issues, like the maple syrup, it is better to err on the side of caution.

I do keep a list of changes to the guide because I do feel it is important to have a historical reference to the changes.

Though I do identify the changes to the food selection, we only promote the foods that are currently on the guide and not the foods that have been removed.
