Dr. Sebi Nutritional Guide – Mucus Reducing Alkaline Diet

The herbalist Dr. Sebi developed the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide, specifically to help revitalize the body on the intra-cellular level. This mucus reducing alkaline diet consists of non-hybrid alkalizing plant foods.

These alkalizing foods control the acid level in the body, therefore protecting against harmful mucus buildup that compromises organs and leads to the development of disease.

Following the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide has brought me success, and this is so remarkable because I never thought I would follow a vegan or healthy plant-based diet.

I haven’t been sick in 4 years since I adopted this alkaline vegan diet and started taking herbs. (Now it is been 10 years without getting sick).

I gradually weened myself off meat and only ate fish, and consumed a little bit of dairy, before I adopted an alkaline plant based diet. Then, I just ate some yogurt and ice-cream here and there.

By removing meat from my diet I saw my health and energy level increase, so I wasn’t motivated enough  to eat an alkaline plant based diet. I really didn’t think I would benefit from it, but I also thought removing fish from my diet along with meat would be too difficult.

Adopting a Diet Based on the Dr. Sebi Nutritional Guide

Luckily, I found information about the herbalist Dr. Sebi, who supported health and vitality using his “African Bio Mineral Balance.” His methodology centered on eating only plant foods on the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide, also along with using herbs in his herbal methodology. This would help to alkalize the body and return the alkaline body back to a state of homeostasis.

The Dr. Sebi nutritional guide consists of natural alkaline vegetables, fruits, nuts, alkaline grains, and legumes, that alkalize and remove mucus from the body. You can gain a comprehensive understanding of this diet and lifestyle by reading my diet book, “Alkaline Plant Based Diet.”

Dr. Sebi also used natural alkaline herbs to clean the body’s cells on the cellular, and intra-cellular level. You can gain a comprehensive understanding of this diet and lifestyle by reading my diet book, “Alkaline Herbal Medicine.”

Blood Alkalinity

The body works to maintain a slightly alkaline 7.4 pH environment in the blood. Therefore the alkaline diet and African Bio Mineral Balance is based on the premise that disease can only exist in an acidic environment. View what happens when the blood becomes acidic.

The blood is the point of equilibrium for homeostasis or balance in the body. When the blood is fed the proper nutrients in the correct ratio, then the organs operate optimally. But when fed improper nutrients, the organs do not operate optimally.

Feeding the body acidic foods over long periods of time compromises the body’s natural buffering system that keeps the blood’s pH stable.

Under those conditions, the body will borrow alkaline minerals and compounds from bones, fluids, and organs to keep the blood’s pH stable. Therefore this compromises the healthy function of various organs and processes in the body.

Dr. Sebi Nutritional Guide – Approach To Disease

Dr. Sebi’s approach to disease is disease:

“disease finds it genesis when and where the mucous membrane has been compromised. For example, if there is excess mucous in the bronchial tubes, the disease is Bronchitis; if it is in the lungs, the disease is Pneumonia; in the pancreatic duct, it is Diabetes; in the joints Arthritis.”

Foods on the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide and herbs Dr. Sebi used in his methodology have set the foundation for many holistic and herbal practitioners.

For example, Dr. Sebi used traditional healing herbs in specific combinations that included, burdock root, sarsaparilla, and dandelion, which clean the blood and clean the liver. Now holistic health movements now widely use these same combinations of herbs.

Dr. Sebi had been practicing his African Bio-Mineral Balance methodology since the early 60’s, and I have found him to be a pioneer of this alkaline diet movement.

Starting My Alkaline Journey

After doing my research, I decided to give the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide a try to improve my health.

I developed a list of foods and herbs I would use from the Dr. Sebi food list and methodology. (Dr. Sebi suggested not eating anything not on the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide.)

Total blessings for me the I started this journey, and I am still on it going strong! The way the alkaline plant based diet makes me feel is incredible. My energy level is fantastic and I don’t get tired anymore, even through hectic days.

Not eating fish is not an issue, and I don’t even think about eating it anymore. I have loss weight and I don’t feel like I am carrying any dead weight. Sleep comes easily, but I also don’t need to sleep as much anymore. I wake up easily and am fully awake throughout the whole day.

Dr. Sebi Approach To Eating and Nutrition

(Note: I am not a doctor and can only tell you what is working for me. This guide is working for me!)

Spring Water!

Along with eating only foods on the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide, drinking plenty of spring water daily is essential to making this alkaline plant based diet work. Dr. Sebi suggests drinking a gallon of spring water a day, and also health organizations suggest roughly the same amount.

The adult body consists of around 70% water, so the body’s metabolic functions need adequate amounts of water to function properly. Water removes waste from the body, cushions the joints and organs, and also assists in the absorption of nutrients.

Many of herbs Dr. Sebi uses are diuretics and increase urination to remove toxins from the body. Therefore, you must replace the water to support the healthy functioning of the body.

Spring water is natural, so it best supports the hydration and natural ratio of electrolytes in the body.

Dr. Sebi doesn’t recommend microwaving food

There is conflicting information about whether microwaving damages food nutrients, because information supports both sides. I have decided not to microwave my food because I believe it is harmful.

So I rather heat my food on the stove or in the oven, but I eat most of my food raw or steamed. I avoid using high heat because it can compromise the organic components in food, though the minerals remain.

Dr. Sebi recommends avoiding eating highly hybridized foods

Dr. Sebi recommends eating the more primal form of a food. This means avoiding highly hybridized foods, and avoiding forced hybridized plant foods. He developed the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide, which excluded many commonly eaten mainstream plant foods, to avoid these foods.

Hybridized plants are made by cross pollinating two or more plants, which moves away from the strength of the original plant food. It changes the genetic structure, electrical composition, and pH balance and highly hybridizing plants often undermines their strength.

One such food is garlic, a plant food we are accustomed to eating but is not the best food to consume.
