The Natural Label Doesn’t Mean It Is Organic – Don’t Be Fooled

This is just a friendly reminder. Don’t be fooled by the “natural” label on food products. I know trying to eat healthy can be confusing and frustrating and it may seem like the world is against you. Don’t worry, it is not exactly the world that is against you. It is just big business trying to protect its profit margins at your expense.

The label “USDA Organic” was made to offer consumers some protection against unhealthy foods by identifying foods made without the use of synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge fertilization, or genetical modification.

As health conscious consumers began buying more organic products the sale of non-organic products began to suffer. The producers of non-organic food products wished they could solve the problem by simply slapping the “organic” label and their products, but legally they could not.

They had two choices, either start producing organic products, or find a way around the problem and that is exactly what the non-organic food industry did.

It came up with a brilliant false advertising campaign which resulted in the use of the label “natural,” which means absolutely nothing! The ingenious advertising gives people the impression that food products with the “natural” label on them are as healthy as organic foods, which is absolutely untrue.

“Natural” foods can be highly processed and contain growth hormones and antibiotics, and are far from being truly healthy.
